- 1 cup Gobindobhog rice
- 1/4 cup Chana Dal
- 1/4 cup Roasted Moong Dal
- 1/4 cup Masoor Dal
- 750 gms Chicken on bones
- Whole garam masala - 1 bay leaf
- 2 whole red chillies
- 3-4 cloves
- 3-4 green cardamom
- 1 ” cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp broken coriander seeds
- Masala
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1.5 Tbsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder
- 2 large onions sliced
- 1/2 cup whisked yogurt
- 4-5 Slit green chillies
- 1 Tbsp ginger paste
- 1.5 Tbsp garlic paste
- Ghee
- Mustard oil
- Salt
- For Tadka
- 3 Tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp asafoetida
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp ginger julienned
- 1 Tbsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder
Instructions to make to make Chicken Masala Khichudi
- In a bowl take the Gobindobhog rice, all three Dals and wash 3-4 times, soak in water for 10 mins

- Wash the chicken

- In a wok heat 2 Tbsp mustard oil and 2 Tbsp ghee, add bay leaf, whole garam masala, whole red chillies, broken coriander seeds, cumin seeds, stir for 40 seconds and add sliced onions, stir on medium flame for 2-3 mins, add ginger garlic paste and cook for further 2-3 mins on low flame

- Add Chicken and on medium flame cook for 3-4 mins, add all spices under Masala. Add whisked yogurt and stir for further 3-4 mins when oil will surface


- Drain the water from soaked Rice & Dal and add to the Chicken. Mix well and cook for 3-4 mins on medium flame. Add 3.5 cups hot water and stir, add salt and cover to cook for 10 mins in between stirring


- Add split green chilies and stir. Add 1 tsp garam masala powder and mix, set aside
- For Tadka - in a wok heat 3 Tbsp ghee, add asafoetida, cumin seeds, minced garlic, ginger julienned and stir, set aside and add Kashmiri red chillies powder. Drizzle on the Khichudi
- Plate and enjoy 😊
