  4. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

  9. 1 medium size onion chopped finely
  10. 2 Tbsp ginger-garlic-green chillies paste
  11. Pinch asafoetida
  12. 1-2 cardamoms
  13. 1-2 cloves
  14. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  15. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  16. as needed Ghee / Oil
  17. to taste Salt
  18. for Garnishing
  19. as needed oranges
  20. 3 tsp corinader leaves

Steps to make to make Gathe Pulao

  1. For Gathe - In a bowl add Besan. Add all ingredients under Gathe. Add very little water to make a tight dough
  2. Make lemon size balls cylindrical in shape. Cut into halves
  3. Boil in a bowl water and add the Gathe’s. Boil for 2-3 mins
  4. In a wok heat oil and deep fry the Gathe’s. Set aside
  5. For Pulao - Boil rice. Cook 90%, drain and set aside.
  6. In a wok heat ghee / oil and add cardamoms, cumin seeds, cloves, hing and stir for 30 seconds.
  7. Add chopped onions, rice, ginger-garlic-green chilli paste, rice and Gathe’s. Mix very well
  8. Add garam masala powder and salt. Mix, sprinkle little water and lime juice and chopped coriander leaves. Set aside
  9. Garnish with oranges and enjoy hot with Mint Raita
